Simple things like changing your address can affect your policy greatly. You may move into a neighborhood with a better rating in relation to theft of vehicles. You would certainly want to know if it meant a possible reduction to your premiums. At the same time you may move to an area with higher crime rates. You would not want to risk this affecting any claim you make just because you didn’t think it necessary to immediately advise your agent of the change of address.

Changing employment or in fact becoming unemployed would be another circumstance where your insurance company might need to be notified. This may mean you are travelling less, or more, or perhaps a mix of private and business. To safeguard yourself, check your auto insurance. Orange County residents should contact their insurance agent if they are unsure as to whether any recent changes might affect their policy.
